报告题目: Effects of light intensity fluctuations on photosynthesis and plant growth

报告嘉宾: Dr. Elias Kaiser

报告人简介:

Elias Kaiser obtained his bachelor degree in horticultural science in 2009 from Leibniz University of Hanover, Germany. In 2011, he obtained a double degree of master in plant science at Wageningen University (TheNetherlands) and Leibniz University of Hanover. In 2016, he obtained a PhDdegree from Wageningen University. He is now working as a tenure-trackassistant professor at Wageningen University.

His research focuses on leaf-level photosynthesis in greenhouse crops,especially with regards to fluctuations in light intensity, and photosynthetic acclimation to external cues (especially CO2 concentration, air humidity and temperature). Further, he works on light use efficiency of crop growth in controlled environment agriculture (greenhouses and vertical farms). His research currently addresses the following areas: i) the dynamics of photosynthesis under naturally fluctuating light intensities, ii) new approaches for rapid phenotyping as well as long-term monitoring of functional traits, and iii) leaf photosynthesis acclimation and plant growth under different light spectra and under naturally fluctuating light intensities.
